About
Ben Kershaw
I’m an ICAEW Chartered Accountant with over 15 years’ experience in finance. I trained with PwC in Audit and Assurance, qualifying as an ACA in 2013, before moving into financial services. I was Head of Finance at Responsible Life and then Finance Director at Responsible Lending, where I was the primary financial modeller on the business plan behind Royal London’s initial investment in the Responsible Group in 2021. Royal London now fully owns the business.
That year I founded Kershaw Consultancy Services, working from Plymouth as a Fractional Finance Director for SMEs and charities across Devon and Cornwall. I work alongside your existing accountants and finance team, providing the oversight above the day-to-day: management accounts, board and trustee reporting, financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting, strategic planning, VAT and compliance oversight, and support through audits and year end.
I also co-founded a Devon brewery in 2013, which was sold in 2015, so I know first-hand the challenges of running a small business.
